omg.. so Saturday I thought I was getting sick.. felt like poo, feverish.. spent ALL day in bed.. So felt I fine yesterday.. today.. then.. just as I'm going to pick up Rylan.. weird thing happens..
have you ever puked and got this like food or whatever lodged in your nose?
and then you're blowing your nose trying to get it out.. b/c it's stuck way up in your sinus..
and you know it's there.. but other than that weird rattle or whatever.. you can breathe okay?
so I have this snot pocket!
it's stuck way in my sinus..
and I can breath okay..
but then it starts rattling..
and my ear is start to plug
and I have post nasal drip from my snot pocket
LOL!
it's like a hot pocket..
but not as tastey
LOL
or hot for that matter..b/c I don't have a heater in my sinuses

and I tried steaming it.. and I can't get it out!
so I guess I'll just have to wait it out.. drinking my OJ/Water flush and taking my cold FX and Vitamins!

So let's see. I'm probably not going to post a whole lot right now.. but we'll see how it goes!
So things are going pretty well.. keeping busy with Volunteer work still. Chrissy and I are coordinating the Block Parent program now.. we're trying to keep it up and running and make it better than ever! We're getting a newsletter together, creating a brochure, getting an appreciation event together.. phew!
It's good times :)
Umm.. was kinda sick this weekend.. but spent most of Saturday in bed resting.. drinking tons of water and OJ, vitamins.. and feeling a bit better today. Maybe I fought it off :) *crosses fingers*
What else.. work.. meh..
Animals are good :) Cuddling with both right now.

I know in a previous post I briefly mentioned the amazing book I had come across, Tuesdays With Morrie. This is the most powerful and inspiring book I believe I have ever come across. I do have 2 more copies to send out to Erin and Mel so just hang on girls!
I felt like I had to share this book with everyone I know...my dear friend Jen just got the copy that I mailed to her. Her words capture the essence of this book eloquently, so please go here; http://spaces.msn.com/members/rendevousjuje/to read what she has to say.
In some way I wanted to share this book with everyone, but the thoughts and feelings and words that came to mind were very personal and I am selfishly keeping them for myself. For those of you who have read it or are going to read it I will gladly discuss this with you. I just don't feel like posting it on the internet...
I can't wait to get my copy back so I can re-read it, and pass it on to another who I know will appreciate the inspiration that was Morrie.

Plus that silly work thing! I don't have time to find a new job! lol.. but I would like one.. with lost of money!
So cool because I saw one of our old VS workers yesterday.. he just graduated from the Justice Institute and is a member of the Abbotsford Police! *twinge of envy goes here*
Can't wait till that's me! Whether it's here or elsewhere.. it's nice to know what I want to do.. I just want to be doing it NOW!

so Ry is off to Calgary for work. The hired some new people in Novemberish...and let's just say they aren't working out so well... so he's going to help train them up so the phone calls for help decrease. It's kind of odd after having been together for so long (while on Vacation) to be apart. I know we live together, but we have our own schedules.. while away we're on the same timetable and were together for sooooooooo much of the day. Plus this is the first time that I've been alone in our house! Woohooo! Good times!
So what did I do? I bought some licorice that I've been craving and read! I haven't read in a while.. not a whole lot since school was out.. so I went and picked up a new book to inspire myself and settled in for a read. OMG! SOOOOOOOOOOOO good! I read Tuesdays with Morrie! It was amazing! I think it was the most profound and inspiring book that I have ever read! I had a really good cry! It was sooooo good! If you haven't read it .. do! Except for a few of my friends.. talk to me if you haven't and you're thinking of getting it.... so CHECK WITH ME FIRST! :P Now I'm watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban! FINALLY! lol!!!

So today was my first day doing real stuff again.. off to Victim Services after a day of being lazy yesterday! lol! I'm so glad I didn't have to work yesterday because I really don't think I would have been able to function. All I did was lay around and cuddle Nalla and Cara, catch up on emails, and do laundry. It was great! I needed that mini vacation after our vacation! :P
So sad though... Ry is going to Calgary to help train some of their new workers...he'll be leaving Saturday night and coming back Tuesday night. I know it's silly but I'm really going to miss him! It will be really strange not having him around after spending 7 days straight together. I know we live together, but it's not quite the same as the vacation...
I'm really glad we had that time together because I can be kind of cranky sometimes (which we all know) but when you're away you kind of put your anger and annoyance in perspective. If something happened and he upset me or I upset him we had to think, "Okay, is this really an important issue that I can let ruin our vacation? Or is this something petty and silly that I just need to get over and move on?" We just realized how silly the BS was.. and you know what? Most of our "tiffs" or "arguments" are over silly petty things that just get blown out of proportion because we're silly and hot headed and stubborn. Now it makes me think.. and I sucked a couple things up and admitted I was being a dummy. Our vacation gave us some time away from everything and to truly enjoy each other. And you know what? I love that punk more than anything in the world!!!
*le sigh*

Okay.. I'm done gushing about Rylan and how much I love him and how much I will miss him!
Actually.. maybe I should have a "WOOOOHOOOOO! Rylan is gone for the weekend!!!!" Party.. who's it?

So we've been in Vegas since last Wed... it was AWESOME!
Let's see if I can remember everything that we did...
Wed we got there and checked into our hotel (the Stratosphere)... nice rooms... went for our first Vegas buffet to the Sahara (ghetto, cool roller coaster, close to our hotel). It was soooo yummy!
After dinner the boys were on a treck to find the convention center to go listen to Bill Gates so Morgan and I decided that we were going to try and find an outlet mall. So we find this map by the bus stop and the mall doesn't look that far away.. so we start walking. We stopped by a 7-11 after walking for about 20 min and a bus driver told us that we weren't that far away, that it was just down the road. So we keep walking.. 20 more min and we still don't see it! So we stop into a Quiznos (after passing 3 more 7-11s) and they tell us we just have to go down the road about 5 more min.... so 20 more min later we then find a mall... pfft.. that isn't an outlet mall! It was so lame! But at least there was a bunch of cops there with the mall security. It was like watching COPS because they had this car surrounded and the one officer was standing going "DON'T MOVE!" It was AWESOME!
We caught a cab back to the hotel to meet up with the guys and the driver told us the street we were walking on is so seedy they normally won't pick people up on it! EEP! lol.. nice to know AFTER THE FACT! lol.. it was funny though because we both got an East Hastings vibe from it.. so we weren't THAT surprised.
Then we gambled for a bit.. hung out with the guys and then crashed for the night.
The next day the guys went off to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and Morgan and I found the REAL outlet mall!!! (one of them) It was a ton of fun! I'm glad we went..got some good stuff. Then we dumped our stuff and went to the buffet at our hotel with the guys. OMG! IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! There was salmon and all the desserts and everything.. omg! It was the best thing I've ever seen. Then we went down the strip for a while... then we went home.
Friday we had breakfast at Dennys :), the guys went back to CES and met Cal Ripkin Jr, and Morgan and I went to AVN... aka the porn convention! LMAO! It was hilarious and we got some good pics/autographs for the guys. It was funny.. some pretty crazy people there let me tell ya!
Then we went to Sephora.. I wanted to get this lipgloss that Jehn has.. but the kind they had wasn't in the squeeze tube like I wanted so I got this other cool one that's a minty lip plumper.. good stuff! We got makeovers and met up with the guys and watched the Treasure Island Sirens show.. it was really cool! We also saw the volcano at the Mirage and the water show at the Bellagio! Later we went back to the hotel and each did our own thing. Ry and I went and bought our tickets for Celine!!!!! OMG!!!! (for the following night) we did the ride at the Sahara, wandered around, walked around and did a bit of shopping at Caesars, and went back.
I just have to interject that OMG time FLIES down in Vegas!
Then Saturday we ended up going on the gondola ride at the Venetian. It was soooo cool! We had a gondalier from Venice and he sang to us and everything! Ry and I met up with his friend Crystal from Toronto (who's moving back to Vancouver soon). She had a lay over in Vegas on her way to Cabo and her flight was delayed so it ended up being a lot of fun because she came to Celine with us. Before that we went for dinner at this restaurant in the Paris.. it was amazing because it was outdoors and the whole time we got to watch the water fountain shows at the Bellagio. They go every 15 min and it was great! Let me just say that the Celine concert was the best show I've ever seen! Her voice is amazing.. as I'm sure you already know! There were dancers and it was just incredible! I can't really describe it!
After that we went up the eiffel tower at the Paris and did a bit of gambling and we split a daquiri in an eiffel tower mug! It was good times! Long night though.. (for us old people)... we didn't get back to the hotel til after 1.. closer to 1:30.
The next day we went for brunch to the Bellagio.. OMG! That was the craziest meal I'd ever had! It was pasta/sushi/breakfast/desserts/cereals/salmon/meats.. OMG! It was soooooooooo good! we were all so stuffed! lol.. then Morgan and I went to M&M World, the Coke Museum (LAME!) and a few other shops. Went home and changed and off to Excalibur for the Tournament of Kings show/meal. That was awesome! The food was fun to eat with our hands.. the show was killer... we all had sooooooooooo much fun.. did a couple games and such. Then we did the luxor and then the New York New York roller coaster! HOLY! That was fun!
Wandering around the hotels was fun.. it's cool to be able to go to Italy, NY, Greece.. all those and more in one trip! :)
Monday we didn't feel like eating much.. so we just had a light meal at the Roxy Diner in our restaurant.. super fun 50/60's style diner where they sing to you while they're working! It's really neat!
Then a few last minute gifts, went to the Blue Man Group.. pretty good.. then, OMG! Dinner at the Top of the World Restaurant on the top of our hotel. It was incredible! Super expensive but the best meal I've ever had! The dome is rotating so we got to see the whole strip while we ate :) It was soooooooooo good! romantic and fun! Then we took a few pics on the observation deck. .. did some gambling and had our final Vegas daquiris in our Stratosphere cups.
It was so great because we didn't have a lot to drink and we didn't gamble much.. came out with more money.. Morgan won $200 on penny slots! Ry won $80.. good stuff :) Got to see pretty much all that we planned on seeing..

I hope that wasn't too boring.. had to mention the food because it was so good!
I'm glad we went.. I'm glad we didn't go for a shorter time b/c it just goes so fast!
Have to say all the hype over the Wynn hotel.. ya it's amazing from the outside.. nice inside but I prefer the Bellagio (interior)... everything there is just so MASSIVE!
Wish we'd had time to do the Canyon and Hoover Dam.. but pfft.. we barely squeezed all we did in without passing out from exhaustion! :)
Glad to be home with our puppy (who is so pooped after puppy daycare walks/hikes) and kitty, who was soooooooooo lonely apparently ;), and glad we went during all the rain! Hehehehe..

Hey guys! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
It's been a while since I posted, but it has also been that crazy time of year, also knowon as Christmas. So school is over, grades (all but one) have been posted.. things went well.. not A+ like I would like.. but with how busy I was, I think I faired pretty well. I can't believe it's over! (at least for now). I've filled out my graduation application and will be sending it in when I get home! Home you ask? That will come in a bit.
So Christmas Ry's dad came over for a visit from Scotland.. it was nice to see him. OMG! I think I might go nuts if he was here all the time :P He's all about Geneology.. which is great! But all year round? I dunno. Amazing that he can remember all the names and years of birth, death, etc. off the top of his head though. Anyhoo.. so we had a Chrismaukah dinner with him, Ry's mom and step dad, Ry's sister and her bf and daughter. They came here and I cooked ham, yams (sooooooo tastey.. need a great recipe email me!), stuffing, salad, peas, corn, and I baked pumpkin pies. (I have to admit that I did buy my crusts this time.. I just didn't have time to bake them). Then I decorated, put up our 4 foot tree (red and silver.. looked sooooooo nice.. post pics if I get them from Ry. It turned out well, Ry's mom brought the turkey, everyone liked the food.. we opened presents.. all in all it was a nice evening. LOOOOOOOOOONG day.. I totally wanted to pass out at the end of it, but it was worth it.
Christmas dinner we went to Ry's grandparent's after we opened our gifts and opened gifts from them and Ry's sister. We did really well! We got some canisters, a jumbo george forman grill, an awesome electric wok, gift cards, awesome pictures of his little niece claire :) *gushes* She is soooooooo cute!!! just a ton of cool stuff! I got some great PJ pants, undies and a killer bra from Ry.. I love when he makes his trips to lasenza :P Some smelly stuff from Body Shop.. good times! Plus Ry gave me gift certificates for a homemade dinner for 2 :) a trip to the shooting range, and a trip to the spa of my choice! Then boxing day we got leather jackets for super cheap. YAY! Did some shopping, then I went to work, then we watched March of the Penguins with Ry's dad and uncle. OMG! I Looooooooooooooved that movie! It was amazing to see what lengths the go to to have children. How they work together as a group to help themselves is just amazing! It's incredible.. and there were definately parts that were sad. I highly recommend it! I want to buy it :)
So anyhoo.. last week has just spent doing this that, coffee, work.. omg! I forgot.. Jehn bought me this awesome necklace that's got chakra stones.. it's to help keep me centered.. plus it's gorgeous. I love it!
Anyhoo.. back to New Years.. we did nothing! It was great! Crawled into our PJs and watched a movie with Jehn. Drank some wine, goofed around.. it was really fun... doing nothing. It's not what I would want to do all the time.. but it was good. Silly thing though.. I texted a bunch of people at midnight, and omg! At around 3am I got texts and calls from like 7 people! I think the messages got delayed because it was busy on the network.. it was good times! LOL!
Today has been a great lazing around day.. did a bit of shopping for Ry's papa.. and then.. we were planning our VEGAS TRIP! OMG!!! THREE SLEEPS TILL WE GO!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

We're going to be there for 7 days/6 nights.. YAY! It'll be our first real vacation together, and I'm really looking forward to going with Morgan and Mark.. b/c it'll be nice to have someone else to be there with.. a girl to hang with when Ry gets too caught up in the electronics convention and another guy for ry to talk shop with :)
